1/21/2024 0 Comments People with natural purple eyesChanging someone's genetic code to give them purple eyes could leave them blind, or could cause their eyes to become horribly malformed. Even a single, seemingly innocuous change can have cascading side effects, many of which could easily be lethal. On the other hand, genetics isn't nearly as clean as it's often portrayed in media. Humans cannot typically produce the chemicals plants use to make purple colors, so it probably wouldn't do anything without extensive bioengineering. Theoretically, you could splice the genes of a purple plant into the cells of a human being, but there's no telling what kind of effect that could have. Something similar happens in humans sometimes: people with very blue eyes and particular iris structure can, under the right lighting, appear to have violet eyes. In nature, most animals achieve a purple hue not with pigments, but with iridescence, the structure of their feathers, scales, etc reflecting light in a way that it looks purple from certain angles. Red or violet eyes can occur naturally in people who have albinism, but it probably won't be a strong enough color for what you're looking for. We also encourage users to register an account.
